What is NEBOSH?

NEBOSH stands for the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health.  They don’t deliver health and safety courses themselves, instead providing syllabuses, exams and assignments to course providers, such as SHEilds, who deliver training courses to candidates.

When working in health and safety, you are often required to hold a certain NEBOSH qualification according to the job role, and by using NEBOSH qualifications to enhance your skills, you can often progress your career.

These qualifications are recognised by professional membership bodies, such as IOSH (the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), IIRSM (the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management), and IEMA (the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment).  Therefore, once a candidate has completed a NEBOSH course, they can often apply to use letters such as TechIOSH, CMIOSH, MIIRSM, or GradIosh after their name.
